As a 4th generation Monterey County resident, working Mom, and daughter of a parent educator and Army veteran, nothing is more important to me than safe communities and every family’s access to a good job, affordable home, and quality healthcare.
Working with you and a broad coalition of County leaders, I’ve deepened partnerships to create opportunity for every family by: convening new regional partnerships to end homelessness; expanding culturally competent services; investing in local businesses, helping small businesses recover from COVID; increasing accountability and transparency at the Sheriff’s Office; and organizing a national coalition to support reproductive rights.
I’ve secured millions to expand quality health care for Medi-Cal patients; support safe schools; prevent youth violence; expand free school meals and senior nutrition programs; and add shelter beds for homeless families.
I’m continuing the fight to improve our quality of life for everyone through my leadership on the Central California Alliance for Health; Air Pollution Control District; and County Homelessness Committee among other boards.
